I'm learning new things
I figure that most of you aren't really more than peripherally interested in the details of this whole "she's decided it's time to lose weight" thing.
That's okay. I don't mind.

I'm already learning quite a bit. I'm using an online web program (free! Free is good.) One of the resources it offers is a nutrition tracker. One thing I think I've learned is that I'm going to have to actually eat more food in order to lose weight. And that, my friends, is weird.
Okay, I guess it's not that weird really—trading not nearly enough food that's all unhealthy pre-processed crap for more food that's healthier....it does kind of make a sort of sense.

I have a tendency to avoid fruits and vegetables entirely, eat way too much in the “meat, grease, and cheese” food groups, and to think that a Butterfinger bar sounds like a pretty reasonable breakfast.
These habits are going to have to change. I have a real and genuine addiction to sugar, and that’s going to want careful handling. I don’t want to live a life totally deprived of all things sweet and sugary, but I also don’t want to wake up after another “just-one-Oreo-more” binge that leaves nothing but a trail of regret and crumbs in its wake. So I choose to learn moderate moderation.
Speaking of moderate moderation, I've had 9 immoderate cups of water today, and I've walked a mile. I have also only had 4 cups of coffee (the cups of water are measured in ounces. The cups of coffee are obviously measured in mugs.) Anyway, I also have a totally immoderate headache that is probably directly related to the fact that I'm operating at about 33% of my normal daily caffeine intake.
