dirocyn is getting appointed indigent criminal defense cases. At approx. $40/hr. you'd think that we'd be all right, but see, he isn't getting enough (yet) to really live on, and they haven't actually given us any actualy MONEY yet.....
So, I'm seriously considering panicking. This is me, panicking. Yup.
To put the kids into daycare would cost about $740 a month. It would be nigh unto impossible at this point for me to get a job that paid enough more than that to be worth the bother. *whimpers*
In fandom news, I joined three new communities yesterday, mainly due tocertifieddork's inadvertant pimpage. I'm now a proud lurker in (at?) ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-community.gif)
triofqf, weasleybottom, and hd_fqf. I'm waiting for some new challenges to open up. I miss writing.
I've also been doing a lot of sewing and quilting. I've gotten Rhiannon's quilt nearly completely handquilted. I've got two or three tops ready to quilt and about a zillion UFOs (that's "unfinished objects") out there. I think quilting is where its at for me right now. We've been watching Joseph Campbell's "Power of Myth" series (with Bill Moyers. God bless him, every Socrates needs a Glaucon, and Moyers is Campbell's philosophical bitch.) Anyway, Joe is all about finding and following your bliss. So what's my bliss, you ask? Good question....I'm not entirely sure but I think its to do with quilting. I've been toying with the idea/fantasy of owning and running a quilt store. It even has a name "Lady Tree Quilting Company"....I just don't know how to get there from here.
