I Can't Think of a Clever Title
Aug. 26th, 2005 08:36 amFor those of you waiting with breathless anticipation (yeah, I crack me up), I'm wading my way through the meme. I did
kelshei yesterday and
jessofthebugs just now. "Patience Iago!" -- Jafar.
Things are going pretty well on the home front.
unforgrettable and I are hammering out details for the series on the Laws we'll be doing in class, Rhiannon is doing well in school, Carl is busy keeping the bad guys out of jail, and Morgan and Rowan continue to grow like proverbial weeds.
Speaking of Rhiannon, she's in Honors Math this year, and has been accepted into Chorus. This is something you have to audition for. She stopped by the music teacher's classroom to ask when auditions were and Mrs. Williams said "Go ahead now." So Rhi sang Happy Birthday, was accepted and came home with paperwork. Just like that. She's also considering joining band.
When we went for orientation for the Kindergarteners I kinda lost my head and said I'd be willing to help with two parties. And I told her I sew and quilt. I may go to Morgan's class at some point and do a little presentation on quilts. I'm thinking I'll print up large line drawings of really simple quilt blocks and cut out colored paper shapes. I'll let the kids glue the shapes into the drawing and make paper quilt blocks.
I'm also considering joining the PTA. I think I need my meds adjusted. Oh that's right! I'm not taking any!
Other news on the housewifery front: all my laundry is caught up and my LR and kitchen could be company ready with 10 minutes. Go me! (And Go Rhiannon! who did dishes last night). Yesterday I made Morgan a Retro apron. Its yellow with pink raspberries on it, and I added pink ribbon and white rick-rack trim. Its awful damn cute, if I do say so myself. I also made a wonderfully horrible vest for Rowan. I was sorting through my fabric and found this gawdawful red corduroy with bright coloredy squares on it. I was sorting it into the "should be burnt" pile, when Rowan came in, gasped with delight and said "Can you make me something out of this?" It looks seriously cute on him.
